Warcraft 3 and Listchecker
There have been many changes by Battle.net recently that have been related to their hatred of maphackers and cheaters which has caused all kind of problems for people using bots, macros, scripts, and hacks on Battle.net. These changes have also been detrimental to the use of Listchecker, a popular program used to decrease the latency of your games when you play games like Defense of the Ancients. Listchecker still works and setting it up is still the same as it always has been (read this post to learn how to set up listchecker), there are just a few things that you should know now until the smart people out there that play video games and make these awesome utilities take the time to work around Battle.net.
Here are some things you should know about Listchecker and the new Battle.net now:
- Listchecker drops games you host after 2-3 minutes, so you must constantly use the /hostbnet command and keep your game active.
- Maphacking in custom games will get you banned by Battle.net just like in ladder games now.
- TDA bots have had their feature set reduced by the Battle.net changes but they should be fixed sometime in the near future
That’s all you need to know, just keep playing and bear with everyone.
