The New RevTT Invite Raffle
Ok, so here we go again, it’s time for the RevTT invite raffle. There will be two winners to this contest as I have two invites to give away for the popular private torrent tracker RevolutionTT. All you need to do to enter is post a comment in response to this thread with a 50-200 word paragraph on why file sharing is good. This raffle will run for two weeks and I will pick the best entry to win one raffle invite and then I will pick a random entry for the other invite. So, if you want an invite to RevTT post up a comment, the raffle ends on Sunday, August 17th, 2008 at 12:00 Noon EST.

File sharing is the best way to find and share content over the internet. Especially through bit torrent. Being able to upload your own content or movies so the world can see is an amazing thing. As well as being able to download anything you want.

The great thing about filesharing is the ability to download and experience things that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to. With the internet people all around the world are able to communicate with each other and share there interests, ideas, and thoughts. Filesharing allows you to expand your mind and experience new things on a much larger scale. File sharing, which is demonized by the likes of the damn RIAA and MPAA is no differant than how our parents used to share mixtapes or record tvshows. Its a blessing for everyone and it has been the greatest joy in my personal life. With filesharing you are able to experience movies, tvshows, music, and anything you can think of without being rich or having a lot of resources, and you can do it on your own time. It opens up a whole new world to you, and its great.

Hello ladies and gentlemans,
First of all i’m going to give you my opinion about filesharing and then i’m going to tell you all why it is so benefict.
Filesharing is benefict for a lot of companies, it helps people to know more about music, movies, games. It helps them promote their music, my example : If you download a song and you love it so much you have better chances to buy it, well I do because when I download someting that keep me on it like some kinds of music or new genres I go straight at the mall and buy some related stuff. It is my opinion about some of the beneficts.
But one of the greatest thing about filesharing, it helps to get known everywere in the world, just an example all your files will be known all over the world by using filesharing, indeed promoting pirated stuff is illegal but if it is promoted and it helps a lot why not?

At little expense to yourself, you can give a lot of enjoyment to someone else! It is important to realize why file sharing is good: Lower bandwidth usage for severs, less pollution over other methods of transfer(via Compact Disc, Paper, ect.) , and it might just be enjoyable to yourself or give you a warm feeling that you’re giving something to someone else without lifting a few fingers (typing, hitting enter…. clicking, perhaps?) File sharing builds communities with similar interests and enables people to find what they need in the world.

For one file sharing regulates the industry, if not for file sharing hollywood and other music/film studios would have so much money that they could control whole countries.
File sharing allows ordinary people to get latest content without having to wait for the studios to release this content in their country. With file sharing there is no need to wait way too long than you should for a dvd/cd release, no need to pay cash-hungry companies your hard earned money for their overpriced products.
File sharing simply lets people to be free and read, watch, listen and view the thing that they want and the things that they should be able to do for free. Books are free in libraries, but we are not living in the 18th centuary, digital media should be free anyway, but for now Long Live File Sharing!

when you are a teen it is the only way to listen and watch what you like without your parents knowing it.
when you are a university student it is the only way to find crucial resources in the middle of the night.
when you are a young adult it is the only way to watch and listen what you like without your girlfriend knowing it.

it is the only way to find and use/listen/watch something which is not available to your part of the world. This is the most crucial advantage of file sharing for me since a lot of stuff comes here late

Digital media at your fingertips. In my opinion, this is the main advantage file sharing has become these days. What other advantage is better than getting digital content when you want it. With the internet getting faster and faster, digital content can be on ones computer within an instant. Everything, if look hard enough, is stored somewhere on the World Wide Web. With file sharing available to everyone world wide, individuals can experience content from different parts of the globe or even finding that long lost movie or music file. Even with illegal downloading, it will basically let you try before you buy. If you’re an independent artist and want to get your media across to people, the internet is the quickest way of getting your media noticed as it is available to file sharers across the world.

Why is filesharing good….getting basically whatever you want w/o paying for it is always a good thing imo. Filesharing has become a civilization unto itself since the time of napster and the early bt sites. Nowhere in the real world would you find so many people who give so freely and ask little/nothing in return. There’s nothing more gratifying than giving back to your fellow man the things you’ve acquired by hook or by crook, sharing the wealth if you will :p I know personally without file sharing I would be a much less enriched and worldly person (lol) sad? maybe. true? definitely.
and for the record revolutiontt is probably -the- best i’ve ever seen, for those of you that havent had the pleasure of obtaining an account there in the past.

The big business music & movie industries like to paint file sharing as a threat to their profit margins – but in reality, it garners more attention and fans (who buy CD’s, go to concerts, purchase t-shirts, etc.) for their artists, and exposes lesser known musicians and filmmakers to a much broader audience. File sharing is free, fast, convenient, and puts a wide array of content within easy reach of the masses. Because of that, it opens people up to trying new & different things they otherwise wouldn’t. How can anything that gets people to expand their horizons be bad?

Giving away invites for RevTT is apparently against their rules and regulations so this kind of raffle will, sadly, never happen again here on aonxe.com. I will try to let you guys know when the good will weekends and such are but other than that… sorry.

Yes I was a member of revo but I had nat problems so I asked one of my friends (NEO) who has been part of Revo for a long time, to ask a moderator to freeze my account, and they did, but that was in august. Now I cant seem to login,or they booted me out for being frozen to long. Please contact a moderator and have them email me so I at least know what happened.
