Warcraft 3 and Listchecker

There have been many changes by Battle.net recently that have been related to their hatred of maphackers and cheaters which has caused all kind of problems for people using bots, macros, scripts, and hacks on Battle.net. These changes have also been detrimental to the use of Listchecker, a popular program used to decrease the latency of your games when you play games like Defense of the Ancients. Listchecker still works and setting it up is still the same as it always has been (read this post to learn how to set up listchecker), there are just a few things that you should know now until the smart people out there that play video games and make these awesome utilities take the time to work around Battle.net.

Making listchecker work with Warcraft III 1.22

Ever since the patch two days ago listchecker hasn’t worked unless you patch your listchecker with the patched version. The patched version is made by another person, a member of the TDA community and it has some significant improvements over the first listchecker, such as an auto-updating system.

Setting Up Listchecker on Warcraft III

If you play Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne at all, then I know that you have heard of the most popular map on Battle.net, Defense of The Ancients. You can download the map here. If you have taken your game up to the next level from public games found in the custom game list to TDA games sponsored by Clan TDA (The clan responsible for maintaining the map) then you probably have heard of LC or listchecker. List checker is a great tool that creates a Virtual LAN that allows for a smooth lag-free game in most cases. The only problem with listchecker is that there is little documentation on how-to get it all up and running, and this can be a daunting task for the less technically inclined DOTA hosts out there.
