Ok, It’s been a few days since I built my computer, 2 to be exact, and I have ran tests upon tests on it to make sure that everything is working correctly and that I am getting some great performance right out of the gates. So far this rig has crushed my expectations, I was thinking of it running somewhere around ~11000 3dmark06 before overclocking it but it ran an amazing 13872 3Dmark06 score @ 1680×1050. It’s been a year now since I got my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Nvidia 8600 GT, 2gb ram, a Core 2 Duo processor, and windows Vista, but now I am really starting to miss my old desktop just because of the power it had. Not to mention my 17″ laptop isn’t really portable, its about 8.5 pounds so lugging it to and from class is a pain, but that’s another story for another day. This post will be about the components for my new computer that I just ordered off of newegg and why I picked each of them. The Warhammer NDA has been lifted, so this post will mark the start of my beta journal for the Open Beta portion of Warhammer. The NDA has been lifted in preparation for the Preview Weekend occurring this weekend, August 22-24th. AonxeDotCom has been empty for the past week or so because I have been so busy with Warhammer, this was one of the most rigorous beta testing programs I have ever been apart of, but it was worth it to see a game come from what it used to be turn into something great. Today is a very sad day. It is a sad day because a man who gave us so many laughs is no longer with use. The man I am talking about is Bernie Mac. Bernie Mac died early on Saturday, August 8. 2008 due to complications with pneumonia according to a family member and his publicist. He was 50 years old. If you aren’t aware Bernie Mac was huge, look at his IMDB page and you can see. He will be sorely missed and is another great actor and person taken from us in his prime. (Soruce: CNN.)
Today I started playing the Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Beta, mainly because Warhammer was down in preparation for the next Beta testing phase (it’s getting closer! yay!). Speaking of Warhammer, I can’t wait until the Closed Beta is over and the NDA is lifted because I have so much stuff to share with you guys! Now back to Red Alert 3!
