DotA Tips: Last Hit Already!

Here is another entry in my series for all the aspiring DotA pro’s out there, DotA Tips! It may come to no surprise for those of you that play DotA that when you get the last hit on an enemy creep you get gold, omg I know right! But how are you getting that last hit?

Do you sit there and auto-attack and hope that you are getting the last hit on a creep or do you deliberately dance around in the back if you are a ranged hero or right next to the creeps if you are a melee hero and wait to swoop in at the last second and secure the last hit?

I hope you do the second part. Last hitting allows you to control you lane much more effectively. Because you are last hitting and not auto attacking, the enemy creeps die slower and it allows for your creeps to die faster, which allows for the enemy creeps to push into your lane making it easier for you to farm, and safer too! It is safer because you don’t have to worry about over extending yourself and getting ganked from the back.

When you are last hitting, make sure you are last hitting your own creeps with Attack+Click when they get low enough hp to deny, under 30%.

Last hitting is made easier by either using a HP Bar Viewer Program (Perfectly legal and accepted in all DotA Leagues) or just holding Alt down when you are in lane.

The HP Viewer program that I use is Inventory A+ (Mirror), which allows you to use the tilda key and activate HP Bars above every unit in the game.

Another favorite of my friends is the popular DotA-Client which is also an anti-hack and stat tracking program.

So, apply this knowledge and go improve your game!
