CnC: Red Alert 3 Beta First Impressions

Today I started playing the Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Beta, mainly because Warhammer was down in preparation for the next Beta testing phase (it’s getting closer! yay!). Speaking of Warhammer, I can’t wait until the Closed Beta is over and the NDA is lifted because I have so much stuff to share with you guys! Now back to Red Alert 3! The newest chapter of the Red Alert series is such a good game so far, as I have only played about 25 games, but it has been great so far. Continue reading ‘CnC: Red Alert 3 Beta First Impressions’

Review: Gold Slam Tennis

Gold Slam Beta 2 Started last night and I can say that I was really excited to start playing again. The game is really fun and is one of the few free games that I have throughly enjoyed my time spent. Gold Slam is made by Aeria Games, the people who brought you Shaiya and a few other popular free games. Gold Slam Beta 2 is going on until August 4 so go get the game and lets play some tennis!

2 New Features of Warcraft III 1.22

Warcraft III: TFT’s most recent patch v1.22 brought a few new changes. There are two in particular that make the game alot better for myself and all the people that know about it, namely DotA players but I could see these features being useful for ladder match orientated players as well. The two new features are auto-health bars and auto-save replays. Continue reading ‘2 New Features of Warcraft III 1.22′

Making listchecker work with Warcraft III 1.22

Ever since the patch two days ago listchecker hasn’t worked unless you patch your listchecker with the patched version. The patched version is made by another person, a member of the TDA community and it has some significant improvements over the first listchecker, such as an auto-updating system. Warcraft III: TFT Patch 1.22 Today!

There was a patch today for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. You can get the patch by connecting to battle.net and downloading the patch like you would any other. The patch notes are at the end of this post. There is a nice new auto-save feature which will be handy for DotA league games and it will cut out on game save breaks if they implemented it right. There are also a few new commands and a new cheat! If you play ladder games there are a few changes that you might want to look into as well. Continue reading ‘Warcraft III: TFT Patch 1.22 Today!’

Setting Up Listchecker on Warcraft III

If you play Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne at all, then I know that you have heard of the most popular map on Battle.net, Defense of The Ancients. You can download the map here. If you have taken your game up to the next level from public games found in the custom game list to TDA games sponsored by Clan TDA (The clan responsible for maintaining the map) then you probably have heard of LC or listchecker. List checker is a great tool that creates a Virtual LAN that allows for a smooth lag-free game in most cases. The only problem with listchecker is that there is little documentation on how-to get it all up and running, and this can be a daunting task for the less technically inclined DOTA hosts out there. My take on Console vs PC Gaming

There are many ways to play video games and each have their own benefits and drawbacks. I happen to be a PC gamer just because it is easier to play games on the computer for me as the computer is where I work, but I also understand the importance of console game systems. Consoles always seem to have a more planned out story line and they each offer something special. Continue reading ‘My take on Console vs PC Gaming’

The Top 3 Free MMORPGs That Are Full of Fail

There are countless Free MMORPGs out there, most of them made by the same 5 companies, and they are all equal in that they are games with truly no purpose. Some of these games are mildly successful, like Rappelz, while others are just like… Terrible. This list will show the top 3 free MMORPGs that could have been good, but they were missing major aspects of the game which turned them in to epic glasses of fail. Play with Purpose

Recently I came across this new service called JACT which is a site that gives you “JACT BUX” for just playing a game. Or as they say “JACT provides a free service that rewards PC gamers for the games they play every day. Played WoW recently? Or maybe Call of Duty 4 is more your speed. JACT supports over 300 PC games.”

From what I can tell, $1 USD is roughly equal to ~1000 JACT BUX. You can make ~100 BUX per hour playing a game of Defense of the Ancients on Warcraft III and some of my friends have said that you get more BUX by playing games that require much more interaction like ladder games on Warcraft III. Their mall has all kinds of things, from pet care accessories to high end NVIDIA 9600 graphics cards (260,000+ BUX!).

JACT is currently still in its beta phase and is invite only, but you can request an invite on their website.
