The new Defense of the Ancients is out and so much is changed, maybe for the better, probably mostly for the worse. At least that is how it will be interpreted for some time to come. The changelog follows and it is ridiculously long. You can get the map at the getdota website.

A new version of Defense of the Ancients is out and there are some interesting bug fixes and changes in it, some good and some not so good. One new change in the new map is the ability to change the water color on your game. All this turns out to be is making the river look like the Kool-aid man died in it, seriously, try -water red or -water green. There are also some balance changes and bug fixes, for a download link and the full change log of 6.54 and 6.54b read after the jump. Continue reading ‘DotA v6.54b is out!’
For the past month or so I have seen a variety of new tactics and even tried to develop a few of my own, the only one that I have made that seems to work is the “Ricky Bobby Strat.” You know in Taledega Knights where Ricky Bobby is like “WHOO I’m going fast!”? Well that is the idea. With enough speed, you can dodge enemy spells, chase running heroes, and just even do some crazy stuff that people will never even expect. As soon as you start playing Defense of the Ancients on Warcraft III: TFT you will start getting better. Soon you will have friends that you like to play with and the public custom games just don’t seem to challenge you any more. You start playing TDA games and for a while they seem to be a little harder but you seem to win about 95% of them with your new TDA team. Steamrolling pubs starts to get old. What’s next? Where do you go to take you gameplay up to the next level? Continue reading ‘Taking your DotA to the next level’
I played the new Defense of the Ancients hero Clockwerk last night for the second time and I did really well. I actually took the footage from that game and recorded a video about the new hero. The video shows people what his skills are and how to use them and then it shows how to combo cast his skills to kill people. This is the first video I have ever made with Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio and you can tell, I wish I were back in school and had access to an Avid machine.
Here is another entry in my series for all the aspiring DotA pro’s out there, DotA Tips! It may come to no surprise for those of you that play DotA that when you get the last hit on an enemy creep you get gold, omg I know right! But how are you getting that last hit? Continue reading ‘DotA Tips: Last Hit Already!’

This new series on Aonxe(dot)com is called DotA Tips. This series will give helpful tips that the average DotA player does not know about and hopefully will be able to improve your gameplay significantly. These tips will come probably four times a month or as frequent as I keep repeating myself on Ventrilo.
This weeks tip!
How to attack a tower and then drop tower agro when it starts attacking you. You may think that when you are killing that tower and it starts beasting you, “OMG RUN AWAY!” but you would be wrong!
Do you have any allied creeps around you? If so, just try to deny one of them, Attack+Click an allied creep, and then you magically lose tower agro! Its so simple, I know. If you try and it doesn’t work, try again! If the third time fails, then the game hates you and you should run away from the tower.
That’s it for today’s DotA tip, may it help you to rub dirt in the face of the enemy.
