Ok, It’s been a few days since I built my computer, 2 to be exact, and I have ran tests upon tests on it to make sure that everything is working correctly and that I am getting some great performance right out of the gates. So far this rig has crushed my expectations, I was thinking of it running somewhere around ~11000 3dmark06 before overclocking it but it ran an amazing 13872 3Dmark06 score @ 1680×1050. It’s been a year now since I got my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Nvidia 8600 GT, 2gb ram, a Core 2 Duo processor, and windows Vista, but now I am really starting to miss my old desktop just because of the power it had. They also don’t cost you an arm and a leg like CS3 does, but you can always find other ways to get CS3 if you really want it. That is for another day though. Continue reading ‘Tools of the Trade’
My Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop came with a nVidia which I figured would be decent for gaming because of the DX10 support. Little did I know that on most of the games I played, the 8600M GT would lock up preiodically for several seconds, normally resulting in my death in Call of Duty 4 of Battlefield 2142.
